Spirit of life and love, God of many names, we ask you to bless all who mourn and to turn our sorrow into a quiet serenity in due time. Though we grieve, may we also know peace, the peace that comes as sorrow gives way to chosen memory, memory gives way to understanding, and understanding gives way to a healing the likes of which we know not on this day. Our hearts are broken and tears flow, and we search for the right words to say. But on this day, let the silence speak. Spirit of life, remind us that it is in the quiet that we can hear a whisper, a calling of the wind, so that one day even a gentle breeze can seem to say, “I’m right here.” Great mystery, may we the living embrace those moments in which we are reminded that one day, we will be the breeze, and know that the love we gave and the love we shared will endure in the arms of the everlasting.
This we ask in the many names of the holy. May it be so.
In loving memory of Dana Jill Zazinski (July 2, 1964 - May 6, 2025)
